Each spring, the Central Valley Food Bank seeks support from local potters for their annual fund raising event, Empty Bowls, that raises both awareness and critical funds for neighbors in our Valley who are struggling with food insecurity.

This event directly supports comprehensive feeding programs, which provide nutritious food to more than 320,000 individuals each month, including over 100,000 children—across Fresno, Madera, Tulare, Kings, and Kern counties. With a goal of raising $150,000, Empty Bowls has the potential to provide up to 600,000 meals to families who face food insecurity here in Central California.

Both Scarab Creative Arts and members of our studio community are proud to contribute handmade ceramic bowls to the event's auction each year in support of this important local effort.
