Basic Acrylic & Watercolor Techniques is a fun & accessible four-week introduction to painting, perfect for beginners or anyone wanting to refresh their skills.
Held Tuesday evenings at Scarab Creative Arts, each class explores a new project, starting with acrylic color theory, moving into minimalist landscapes, and transitioning into expressive watercolor and mixed media inspired by contemporary artists.
Tuition $140 + processing fee.

This course also serves as the prerequisite for Painting 2, which builds on the techniques learned in Painting 1 for deeper exploration and more advanced projects.
Intro to Encaustic Collage
Dive into the luminous world of encaustic collage in this weekend workshop at Scarab Creative Arts!
Sep 13 & 14 and Mar 14 & 15 from 10 AM – 3 PM
We will explore tissue paper collage, watercolor bases, and working with encaustic medium.
We’ll cover the fascinating history of encaustic painting and draw inspiration from contemporary artists.
This workshop is the perfect introduction and serves as a prerequisite for our Open Studio Encaustic sessions.

Explore the rich, luminous world of encaustic collage at Scarab Creative Arts!
Our open studio days provide all materials needed to dive into encaustic techniques, including colored encaustic, cradled boards, and other collage supplies. Encaustic medium will be available for both use and purchase. These self-directed studio sessions offer a relaxed environment to experiment, create, and develop your own encaustic artworks at your own pace.
